Step 2 : Information on mobility
Any reasons expressed for leaving are considered to be admissible whether they are professional, academic or linguistic.
The counselor should be familiar with them and provide additional information on the mobility envisaged by the candidate. This information concerns the type of mobility (free mover vs. mobility in institutional exchange), the duration, the modality (internship, studies, volunteer work, language training, employment), the financing, the linguistic preparation, the logistical aspects, etc...
Many institutional or partnership-based programmes promote mobility and usually provide funding. However, they are subject to predefined conditions depending on the objectives. One example is the European Erasmus + programme in higher education, which concerns students already enrolled in a higher education institution.
In identifying the consultant's motivations, it is important to question his or her representations of both mobility and the intended destination.
